Fraps for dummies (me :p)

Step by step what to do.

At first you have to install a program called "Fraps": Download section of our forums
Then install it

Program: Fraps
Fraps is used to capture films while playing a game. We will use it to capture your Cabal character
• Start Fraps
• Click "Movies"
• By clicking the "Change"-Button you are able to select a folder where you want to store the film. (You should select the harddrive with the most free space)
• Click the Video Capture Hotkey-Textbox to change it. (You have to press this hotkey to start/stop recording)
• Select "Half-Size"
• Select "25 fps"
• Deselect "Record sound" (we dont want to record sound)
• Now minimize Fraps

Close all not-needed programs now! (e.g. Windows Media Player, Winamp, etc)

Game: All
Hint: While playing cabal you will recognize two yellow numbers at one corner of the screen. They show your current fps (frames per second). These numbers will become red while capturing the film and turn back to yellow if you stop capturing.
Hint: Turn down your graphic options, because capturing a film needs a lot of performance!
Hint: To lower the size of the movie you should use a resolution of 800x600 !
• Start Cabal
• Log in with your account data, prepare for recording the film (e.g. go to Port Lux's beach)
• Press the previous defined hotkey to start capturing. Now stay, walk and interact in a way you want.
• If you have enough of capturing press the previous defined hotkey again and the film has been saved to the previous defined folder.
• Exit Cabal now and start Windows Movie Maker

Program: Windows Movie Maker
This program should already be installed to your computer It will help us to reduce the size of your movie.
• Click "File" and then "Import..."
• Choose the film you have previously captured and double-click it
• The film now appears in a list view; drag it to the video timeline (below) now
• (You can add more movies to the timeline if you want to)
• Click "File" and then "Save Movie"
• A dialog appears, click "My Computer" (the first option) and press"Next"
• Choose a name and a location for your film and press "Next"
• Then click "More Options" and choose "Video for local playing (2,1 MBit/s PAL)" in the combo box. Click next to start compressing the film.

Your film is ready. Go to the folder you have chosen before and double click your file. Now enjoy watching your char film

The only thing left is how to upload your film
